Ex-VP plans meeting with Wike as Atiku's US visit stalls PDP peace efforts.

Wike and Atiku

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party's presidential candidate, whose emergence and selection of running partner have sparked problems among some party chieftains, has traveled to the United States, which may lead the reconciliation efforts in the Peoples Democratic Party to be delayed.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, is said to be resentful of the outcome of the party's presidential primary and his failure to win the position of running mate. The Media  also learned that upon his return, Atiku intended to meet with Wike.

Ayo Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, and Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State are two party leaders who have recently voiced their discontent with the way things are going in the party. Ortom criticized Wike's treatment prior to the selection of a running mate, but Fayose, who took part in the party's presidential primaries, declared that it was either the southern presidency or nothing.

Jonah Jang, a former governor of Plateau State, has also voiced concerns over the manner in which Atiku chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State against the recommendations of the committee formed to identify the candidate's running mate.

The party leadership was concerned about the events, but according to certain party sources who spoke to the media on Sunday, Atiku's presence was also vital for the majority of the problems to be resolved.

As the party's candidate in the election on February 25, 2023, the former vice president has reportedly been encouraged to take some downtime to unwind.

The goal of the vacation, according to one of his associates, who first spoke with one of our correspondents on Saturday morning, was for him to rest and plan how to appease those upset by Okowa's election.

One of our correspondents questioned him about the PDP candidate's handling of the party's crisis and whether the former vice president's visit wouldn't impede efforts to broker a truce between the enraged party members.

Yes, you are accurate, the source acknowledged. In the US is Atiku. He must come up with a solution to the party's issues with the help of a few of his pals.

"Thank goodness, there is still plenty of time to talk, harmonize, and even resolve disagreements. Therefore, no one should assume that these politicians are inexperienced.

Atiku's journey to the United States was additionally confirmed by Oladimeji Fabiyi, the director of the Support Group and Events Technical Committee for Atiku Abubakar for President 2023.

He claimed that the party's cacophony of voices was comparable to that of other political parties. According to him, changes within the PDP were typical for any significant political party, particularly during an election year.

"As you can see, even the ruling All Progressives Congress is facing some difficulties," he continued. The PDP is a party of the people, owned by the people, as opposed to the APC, which is essentially a one-man party.

"I'll say it out loud: There isn't a crisis in the PDP. Yes, there are dissenting voices, but they do not portend a crisis that may undermine the party's foundation. Therefore, everyone is happy to see Governor Okowa come to power. You may recall that Atiku Abubakar, the candidate for our party, held extensive consultations before deciding on his running mate.

Joe Biden unintentionally divulges a "cheat sheet" his aides gave him, instructing him to "take YOUR seat and deliver brief comments." During a meeting with business executives at the White House, US President Joe Biden unintentionally displayed a "cheat sheet" with simple instructions on where to sit and what to do. Biden mistookly handed the list of directions to the photographers, which stated to "take YOUR seat," "YOU deliver brief comments," and "YOU go." The 79-year-old, who is said to have early-stage dementia, was also told to speak with some attendees, engage them in conversation, and thank them before departing. Major worries about the President's wellbeing and mental capacity as he approaches 80 have been raised as a result of his errors.
